Borussia Dortmund wants to strengthen itself in the winter in order to regain contact with the top of the Bundesliga table. Recently, a surprising name has been introduced at BVB because it is new and unknown in this country.
As “Der Westen” reports, Gabriel Suazo from FC Toulouse has become the focus of Borussia Dortmund. The left-back’s profile is therefore interesting for BVB.
Suazo’s contract in Toulouse runs until 2026. It is doubtful that the French, who are in the middle of a relegation battle, will give up the 26-year-old Chilean during the season.
Especially since the 13-time national player is currently 16th in the table. Ligue 1 is set. Suazo is one of the few bright spots at Toulouse so far. The defender played in 22 of 23 possible competitive games, 19 of which he was in the starting line-up. He has also scored two goals and prepared just as many goals.
BVB urgently needs reinforcements
It is well known that BVB is intensively looking for possible reinforcements for the full-back positions.
Left defense in particular has long been considered a major squad construction site for the Westphalians, pushed forward by the departure of Raphael Guerreiro last summer, the injury to Julian Ryerson and the impending African Cup of Ramy Bensebaini.
Sports director Sebastian Kehl recently announced to the “Ruhr Nachrichten” that BVB might want to become active on the transfer market in the winter. “As always, we are keeping our eyes open for reinforcements,” he said.
At the same time, the 43-year-old emphasized that the Revierklub does not want to be pressured into transfers by “external assessments”. “We analyze internally where we can possibly improve given the economic conditions,” says Kehl.
