Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina continued her brilliant streak at the Wimbledon tennis tournament when she defeated Poland’s Iga Światek in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Svitolina won the match 7–5, 6–7 (5–7), 6–2. Światek was the number one ranked player in the Wimbledon tournament, so Svitolina’s victory can be considered a small surprise. Entering the tournament, Svitolina was ranked 76th in the world rankings. The victory came as a surprise even to the Ukrainian herself.
