The Surinamese police arrested 128 people during the protest demonstration that got out of hand on Friday. They are suspected of looting, theft and other criminal offenses, the police said in a press release. More arrests are not ruled out. At least 20 people were injured in the clashes. Petrol stations and shops in the capital were looted.
