Supporters record for FC Eindhoven, but what if they reach the final?

FC Eindhoven is alive like never before. In The Hague, Rob Penders’ team can count on the support of more than three hundred fans during the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie on Tuesday evening. Never before this season so many FC Eindhoven supporters travel after their club. But if the final is reached, a small ‘drama’ threatens for the Eindhoven residents.

FC Eindhoven is still fully involved for promotion and is only four games away from the Eredivisie. The first game with ADO Den Haag awaits in the Hofstad. Supporters Coordinator (SLO) Stefan van Dommelen is very proud of the number of fans that travel along.

“I see more and more FC Eindhoven flags in the city.”

“Against De Graafschap, the branch was already filled with more than 200 supporters. Now there are more than 300. Great! It does mean extra work of course. Together with several supporters we are busy organizing the busses, arranging of the catering and the safety of our supporters.”

Van Dommelen notices in everything that his club lives in the area. “I see more and more FC Eindhoven flags in the city. Everyone is involved in the club.”

Despite the fact that FC Eindhoven first has to deal with ADO Den Haag, there is a small drama for FC Eindhoven. If it hits Heracles in the final, the club may not take away supporters in the final of the play-offs. The branch in Almelo is not safe enough.

“I fear that our supporters will find it difficult to accept that too.”

“That would be a real drama. Most of the supporters have never experienced this. If we can’t make it to the final, it will be a big disappointment. I fear that our supporters will find it difficult to accept that. We will then go.” see what we can arrange.”

It is not there yet, but if it is up to the supporters coordinator, FC Eindhoven will reach the final. “We did not come third for nothing. In addition, we showed against De Graafschap that we can also play mature. We will need that against ADO. I have every confidence in it.”

A few tickets are still available for the home match against ADO Den Haag. Van Dommelen expects that match, just like last Friday against De Graafschap, will be sold out quickly. “I think the last tickets will go out on Wednesday or Thursday.”
