“At least a dozen chairs have been kicked to pieces,” says FC Emmen financial director Frank Maatje. “The toilet groups at the men’s and the women’s have been destroyed. I don’t know exactly what the repair costs, but you can easily spend a few thousand euros.”

FC Emmen has mapped out the destruction and sends the bill to FC Volendam. According to Maatje, that is the procedure that the club always follows. It is then up to the opponent to determine whether the damage can be deposited with the vandals.

“Fortunately, I have never experienced damage of this magnitude before”

Maatje: “There are good camera images and we make them available. Fortunately, I have never experienced damage of this magnitude before. It concerns individuals, of whom I do not know what possessed them.” The branch was sold out with just under four hundred supporters. The Orange Army saw FC Volendam lose 4-1 in the battle for the lead.

“We not only lost the game, but also a part of our decency”

FC Volendam business director Richard de Weijze

FC Volendam regrets the state of affairs and assumes an incident. “This is not the Volendams”, business director Richard de Weijze responds to the club’s website. “The ringleaders destroy more than just the material damage with this behavior. We not only lost the game, but also a piece of our decency.”

Playing next Friday The New Orange another away game. Then FC Volendam will visit ADO Den Haag.
