The fire released a lot of smoke that moved over the city center of Almelo. When the first units arrived, the fire was already spreading and it was scaled up to a major fire. The fire brigade managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings by deploying three fire-fighting vehicles, a car ladder and a drone.
Shortly after 6 a.m., the fire master signal was given. An investigation into the origin of the fire will be conducted during the day. The cafe was completely destroyed by the fire.
