Particularly Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş fans gathered in front of the Israeli Consulate General in Istanbul in Beşiktaş Levent and reacted to Israel’s attacks on Gaza by chanting various slogans.
The group, holding Turkish and Palestinian flags, carried banners with Turkish and English writings. A fan representative who made a statement on behalf of the group said that the Palestinian resistance should be supported without buts and buts. Stating that defending the Palestinian resistance is a matter of dignity, the supporter said, “Defending the Palestinian issue is a matter of manliness. This is the time for Jerusalem, today is the day of resistance. We are standing for Al-Aqsa for Palestine.” After the speech, prayers were said for those who lost their lives in Gaza. Additionally, fans lit torches during the protest. The group then dispersed without incident.
