Support for approach to hiking networks in Westhoek

The “Link de Westhoek” project revolves around four spearheads. For example, the Heuvelland Hiking Network is expanding towards Wijtschate and De Palingbeek. The Dode IJzer Wandelroute in Poperinge will have new pedestrian gates and fences, and there will be a footbridge over the Heidebeek in Vleteren. And in Messines, some slow roads are getting a major overhaul.

The project will run until the summer of 2024. The Regional Landscape Fund will receive €65,000 in support from the Recovery Fund. The cities and municipalities involved and the Westhoek Regional Landscape together pay the remaining 10,000 euros.
