The always positive Jessica Diggins admires the ski track built at Tallinn’s Laululava.
JENNI GUEST
Parisprint Olympic winner and two-time world champion and overall World Cup winner Jessica Diggins is participating in Tuesday’s sprint race in Tallinn.
The Minnesota native is still in the top fight of the World Cup overall.
– It’s really cool that a city sprint race has been brought here. The last time I was in Tallinn was when I was 17. It was nice to see the old town again in the morning, it’s a really beautiful place, Diggins beamed.
The 31-year-old champion skier radiates positivity even in Tallinn’s March rain.
– A lot of work has been done here to get the snow to the competition venue. That’s impressive. The track is fast, but safe.
“Your word”
TIMO KUNNARI
Kerttu Niskanen and Jasmin Kähärä predicted a lot of events, even crashes in the Tallinn race, the downhill part of the track is fast. The American superstar didn’t start guessing the same.
Will we see a lot of action on Tuesday?
– That’s your word, not mine. It will be an exciting race, the audience can see the entire track from the stands. I really don’t know what the audience is like here, Diggins replied to Iltalehte.
Like Lenzerheide
JENNI GUEST
The Sprint World Cup will be contested in Tallinn for the first time. The skiers got to know the track on Monday. Diggins enjoyed himself in the wet weather for another hour, doing take-off and landing exercises, among other things.
– This is a similar track to Lenzerheide. First there is an uphill, then we turn and come downhill. There can also be a small moment to rest, it depends on how fast the track is in the race.
– This is a neat place, cross-country’s brightest athlete thought.
