Supermarket robber from Emmen has to sit for 3.5 years

A 45-year-old man from Emmen has to serve a prison sentence of 3.5 years for a supermarket robbery in Nieuw-Dordrecht. The punishment is equal to the requirement of the Public Prosecution Service (OM).

The judge finds it proven that the man forced an underage cashier to take money from the drawer in March of last year. The girl ran off screaming. The robber opened the drawer and took out more than 1300 euros. At the time, three underage employees were busy closing the store in the supermarket. One of them called the police.

The Emmenaar denies the theft with violence. The judge finds the evidence presented convincing enough to convict the man. The judge blames him for showing three minors a firearm while he had pulled a nylon stocking over his head. He gave them fear and the consequences are serious. At the hearing, the victims stated that they are still not over it.

The man takes no responsibility for what he has done. He also pleaded guilty to illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. A hefty prison sentence is in order here, according to the judge. The resident of Emmen must pay his victims a total of more than 5,400 euros.
