ROma, 7 Jul. (askanews) – It is the most anticipated film of the summer 2025 and from 9 July it arrives in the cinemas Superman. Director James Gunn transports the original superhero to a new universe made of epic story, action, irony and feelings, delivering a superman guided by compassion and a profound trust in the goodness of mankind.
The film was written about two years ago but it recalls a lot what is happening today in the international political context, between invasions and wars. “It is sad to note that today’s world much more resembles that of the film compared to two years ago. – said the director – I think, in general, there is a great lack of kindness today: it seems a trivial thing but it is not. Of course he would not stop wars but perhaps he could change the actions of our governments a little. And the film talks about this ».
The protagonist of the DC Studios film is David Corenswet in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, alongside Rachel Brosnahan in that of Lois Lane. “It is clear that Superman it is set in a world of fantasy, as they are Startwars or The throne of swordsbut then has to do with our present because in the end it speaks of people, of humans who have to face problems. – explained Corenswet – It seems paradoxical but sometimes vulnerability can be a force. Nobody is invincible, Being brave does not mean not being afraid, but being strong by living with fear, fighting for the things you think right, take risks, take responsibility ».
Clark Kent and Lois Lane in the film are two journalists, in perennial fight against fake news and always looking for truth. Rachel Brosnahan stressed: “The free press is very very important, and we are very grateful to James who showed how important the search for truth is through the work of journalists”.
