The food bank Noordenveld is also very satisfied with the proceeds. A total of 256 crates of food were collected in Norg, Peize, Roden and Nieuw-Roden.
Chairman Henk Brouwer of the Food Bank in Hoogeveen thinks that Hoogeveen and the surrounding area have given very generously. “There have been several people who came with a whole shopping cart full.” A total of 600 crates full of food were collected. Seventy percent of what is brought in has already been sorted today at the location of the Food Bank in Hoogeveen. Henk Brouwer expects that the Food Bank will be able to use the stock until March.
There was also a successful campaign in Westerveld. There, 144 crates were collected from four shops and the collection boxes also contained about 800 euros. Harrie Geertsma is therefore extremely satisfied. He did notice that people are a bit tighter than before this year. “There were more people who gave something, but they gave a little less.” Geertsma thinks that the Westerveld food bank can last a year with the new stock.
At the food bank in Beilen they will start unpacking next Monday. There are still thirteen roll containers, each with fourteen crates, ready to be sorted. In addition, about 660 euros in cash was also collected. The boxes of food come from shops in Westerbork, Beilen, Bovensmilde, Smilde and Hoogersmilde. According to Alie Reitsma, so much has never been collected as now and she is therefore extremely satisfied. “We can move forward six months, but first clean up on Monday.”
