TFF President Mehmet attended the “Sports Sector and Economy in GCC and Turkey” panel at the Gulf Countries Cooperation Council (GCC)-Turkey Economic Forum organized by the International Cooperation Platform and Gulf Research Center in Istanbul. Büyükekşi, FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup Chief Executive Officer Nasser Fahad Al-Khater, Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of Sports, Strategic Planning and Investment Advisor Naif I. AlDossary and Italian Football Federation President Gabriele Gravine attended.
Speaking at the panel, Mehmet Büyükekşi stated that, as TFF, they want to promote Turkey by holding Super Cup celebrations all over the world on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, and said, “Football is extremely effective in almost all countries of the world, therefore football is of great importance in terms of the promotion of countries. Saudi Arabia “We continue our negotiations with Arabia to organize the Super Cup matches as a quadruple tournament for 5 years. The Italians and Spaniards also follow this model with the King’s Cup matches.” he said.
Underlining that Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in football, Büyükekşi said, “They are taking an important position with the world-famous transfers they have made. We met with Germany, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia was important to us because the eyes of the world are on Saudi Arabia. The world will be in 2034.” They have applied for the Cup. We are with our brother country in this work. We aim to show the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Turkey to the whole world by ensuring that the Super Cup is shown on many television channels around the world. Our goal is to have the Super League rank 6th in the world rankings. “Our league hosts very competitive and important matches. We want to showcase this abroad as well. We aim for our teams to become world brands and have fans from all over the world.” he said.

Reminding that Turkey will organize the 2032 European Football Championship (EURO 2032) jointly with Italy, President Büyükekşi said:
“We won EURO 2032 and the whole world saw that all our conditions were sufficient. We will organize the European Championship in Turkey in 2032, jointly with Italy. Footballers from all over the world come to camp in many of our cities such as Antalya, Bolu and Afyon. Our infrastructure, our hotels “It is ready, and we will continue our work in these 9 years.”
Stating that they also attach importance to the corporatization of clubs, Büyükekşi said, “Foreign investors have invested in many clubs, especially in France, the USA and England. A first has started in Turkey with Göztepe. We attach importance to this issue.” made his assessment.
