The R&B singer inherits Rihanna and performs in the legendary halftime show of the NFL finals. He loudly announces a performance that has never been seen from him before.
Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Aerosmith, Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé – Usher joins a number of superstars who have already performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. It’s the singer’s turn to present a best of his work on February 11th at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
“This has been on my wish list for a long time,” Usher said in an interview with Zane Lowe about the announcement on Sunday (September 24). “I’ve often been asked, ‘What are the things that are most important to you? Of course the performances, but also the opportunity to stand on this very stage because so many great musicians have stood on it and done a great job.”
Apparently there are already plans for the gig, with Usher boasting: “I can’t wait to give the world a show unlike anything they’ve seen from me before.”

In a promotional video that accompanied the NFL’s announcement, the musician can be seen, as he calls Kim Kardashian to tell her the news.
Usher, who is one of the most successful R&B singers of all time and an eight-time Grammy Award winner, was previously seen in the Super Bowl halftime show in 2011. However, not with a solo performance, but as support for the Black Eyed Peas. He sang “OMG” together with will.i.am. Also at the side of the band around singer Fergie: Slash.
