Mestis got a new leader. 35-year-old Taneli Maasalo is the new manager of Mestis. The second highest league level in Finnish men’s ice hockey announced the appointment on Tuesday. Maasalo is a former player who laced up his skates for 180 Mesti regular season games in his own career. KeuPa HT froze Maasalo’s game number in 2019 as a tribute to the man’s work on the rink and in the club’s office.
