Sunday trend: majority for black-green

BERLIN (Dow Jones) — A week after the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, the lead in the polls between the Union and the SPD has climbed to its highest level since August last year. In the Sunday trend, which the opinion research institute INSA collects weekly for the “Bild am Sonntag” (BamS), the CDU and CSU come to 28 percent this week (+1 percentage point), which is the highest value since July 2021. The SPD, on the other hand, loses one another point, comes to 21 percent and thus to the worst value since August.

The Greens gain a point and come to 19 percent this week. The FDP (10 percent) and the AfD (10 percent) can maintain their values from the previous week, the left loses a point and now comes to 3 percent. The other parties would get 9 percent of the votes. Due to the strength of the Union and the Greens, a black-green alliance would now also have a parliamentary majority in the federal government.
