Sun-drenched Winkel Koerse: only horse race on the street

It is a tradition of more than 160 years. On fair Tuesday, horses race on the public road through the streets of Sint-Eloois-Winkel. It is a unique spectacle, unique in our country.

The program includes a race with farm horses and a race with double sulkys.

Lampaert vs horse

Winkel Koerse presents a stunt every year. Last year, promising rider Alec Segaert from Lendelede took on a horse, but this year it’s the turn of former yellow jersey wearer Yves Lampaert. That race will be held at 6 p.m.
