Summerdoc assists general practitioners in De Panne during the summer season

For the third year in a row, De Panne has been attracting doctors from the interior, in order to relieve the workload at its own GPs in July and August. De Panne currently has six general practitioners, but that is not enough if you consider that the population rises from 11,000 to almost 60,000 during the high season. General practitioner Julie De Vooght from Dilbeek is the first ‘summerdoc’ of this season. “I replace the GPs who are on leave. That’s a file. In addition, there are tourists who do not have their GP here, they can appeal to the summer doctor,” explains Julie.

As a ‘summerdoc’, Julie has a fully equipped doctor’s office at Adinkerke station. But also your own car for home visits and numerous other benefits such as a holiday home, a beach cabin and an annual subscription to Plopsaland.
