Summer preview in the next few days, but also hope for a shower

It may not be the best timing, especially now that the May holiday is over, but Drenthe will get a taste of summer in the coming days with temperatures above 20 degrees.

This Sunday is and remains quite sunny, but due to the north wind, the temperature today remains at 15 or 16 degrees. But that will change according to RTV Drenthe weatherman Hans Nienhuis.

“The end of the May holiday means the start of a different weather regime,” says Nienhuis. “The evening and night to Monday will be clear and therefore quite cold. The mercury drops to 1 degree and in sheltered places maybe even just below freezing. But the north wind has been exchanged tomorrow for a breeze over land and we notice that in the temperature. It rises to 21 degrees in the afternoon in North Drenthe, in the Southeast we will reach 23 degrees.”

“After a mild night on Monday, we will have some more clouds on Tuesday, but possibly a little warmer with temperatures of 22 to 24 degrees. That means we can already smell a little bit of summer!”, says the enthusiastic weatherman of RTV Drenthe.

But will the summer weather last? “Not quite,” explains Hans Nienhuis. “The air will become slightly cooler after Tuesday, just around or slightly below 20 degrees. And the air will become slightly more unstable, which means more clouds and the chance of a shower or shower increases. But gradually we can also hope for a little shower, a little rain is quite welcome in several places.”
