Summer is back: Saturday to 34 degrees, Sunday chance of heavy thunderstorms

On Wednesday we had to deal with one of the heaviest summer storms in 50 years, but summer will return to our country from Friday. Weeronline even expects tropical temperatures on a large scale during the weekend.

On Friday it already starts due to a wind from the east that brings warm air to our country. This leads to summer temperatures between 24 and 27 degrees in the coastal areas. Inland it gets even warmer, in the southeast it can even reach 30 degrees locally. Furthermore, it remains dry everywhere and the sun shines brightly. Even in the evening it remains ideal terrace weather, it stays warm for a long time.

Saturday may be the warmest day of the year so far, according to Weeronline. It will be tropically warm in almost all of the country. At sea the temperatures are between 28 and 30 degrees, inland it gets even warmer again. Locally, it can be no less than 34 degrees in Limburg. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, the minima remain quite high with 16 to 19 degrees.

Turning wind

After Saturday, the worst heat is over again. It will remain warm on Sunday, but due to a shifting wind it will be ‘only’ between 25 and 30 degrees. During the course of the day it will become somewhat cloudier and the chance of a shower will increase. At the end of the afternoon and in the evening some heavy rain or thunderstorms can fall.

After the weekend we return to typical Dutch, changeable summer weather. That means more chance of showers and Monday maxima between 20 and 27 degrees. The rest of the week it cools down a bit further, then temperatures are between 20 and 24 degrees.
