After a two-year forced break due to the pandemic, the rain has now softened the preparations for the Berlin Economy Summer Festival.

The Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists (VBKI) quickly relocated the sponsors’ champagne and oyster bar on the Euref campus to the interior and the grill station under the roof.

“It’s a joy to see you again,” said Senator for Building Andreas Geisel (SPD) about 1,000 guests. VBKI President Markus Voigt was delighted: “We’ve been sold out for days”.

Many entrepreneurs looked to autumn with worry lines. “I don’t think there will be too little gas. I’m rather wondering what’s going on with buying behavior,” said Jörn Woltmann, head of the porcelain manufacturer KPM. His greatest concern: “The main thing is that social peace is preserved.”
