Summary: Problem-free evening for VZV in European Cup against Dicken, defeat SEW in Sweden

A simple victory for VZV in the European Cup. The handball players from ‘t Veld defeated Dicken 22-13 and never ran into problems against the Finns. “This was really very good”, said VZV trainer Rolf Schulte afterwards.

Extra forces in EC

A windfall for VZV from ‘t Veld tonight, because things are not going well in the national competition. The first four games were lost against VELO, Kwiek, Boer’n Trots and VOC. The first points were only collected last weekend. The handball players defeated PSV 31-28.

The bad start in the Eredivisie was not visible for a moment in the European Cup match against the Finnish Dicken. “The European Cup calls for extra forces. I have not seen them play with so many forces in the competition,” said Schulte.

Flying start

The team from the head of Noord-Holland was stronger from the start and took the lead. The margin was quickly expanded from 5-3 and to 11-3. As a result, the score at half time was in favor of VZV: 12-5.

In the second half, VZV remained a size too big for the Finns. In no time it was 16-8, so it was actually already played. In the final phase, the margin was still ten points (21-11) and the final score was 22-13. Keeper Lisanne Bakker played a very strong match. “I didn’t expect it to go so easily. We have to finish it next week,” Bakker said afterwards.

Next Saturday is the return in Finland.
