The first round in the BENE League has been played. In the North Holland get-together between Volendam and Aalsmeer, Geert Hinskens’ team was the strongest. In sports hall Opperdam it became 31-27.
Although with quite a few time penalties, the home team was the better in the first half. Although Aalsmeer took a small lead in the opening phase, Volendam quickly turned the game around. That resulted in a 17-12 score at halftime. Newcomer Ephraim Jerry stood out with his good game. Aalsmeer mainly played from the switch.

In the second half, Volendam kept the accumulated margin of about five points. Aalsmeer tried to make the game a little more, but Volendam’s individual qualities made the difference. Led by the strong goalkeeper Evan de Lange and Ephraim Jerry, it won the match against Aalsmeer 31-27.
