Summary: North Holland cellar squatter between Green Yellow and Blue White

The North Holland korfball derby was a meeting between the numbers eight and nine of the Korfball League. The cellar squatter got off to a slow start because both teams were sloppy in possession and missed many shots. Green Yellow took a lead, but thanks to three striking penalty throws, Blauw-Wit was equal again: 3-3.

That was also the starting signal for the team from Amsterdam to push through. Thanks to a number of striking hits, Blauw-Wit took a four-point lead: 7-11. Particularly because the team of Erik van Brenk and Mark van der Laan started playing at a higher pace, they managed to walk away from Groen Geel: 9-13 at halftime.

Brawl match

Blauw-Wit came out of the dressing room well and immediately forced Green Yellow back. This secured the victory. And when the home team from Wormer thought they were coming back, Blauw-Wit struck mercilessly again almost immediately. The much higher effectiveness among the visitors was therefore striking. Towards the end, both teams had many physical duels and the referee had to take the flame out of the pan. Although Groen Geel pulled out all the stops, Blauw-Wit won 21-25.

Thanks to the victory, Blauw-Wit is on seven points from seven games. Green Yellow is stuck in penultimate place with five points from seven games.
