It didn’t seem to be a difficult evening for the korfball players of Blauw-Wit after a good first half against fellow provincial Groen Geel. After the break, the wide margin promptly disappeared and it became even more exciting. The team from Amsterdam eventually drew the longest straw: 21-25.
In the initial phase, thanks in part to three consecutive hits by Fleur Blötevogel, the score went from 2-2 to 4-7. Hereafter, the visitors took a big lead of seven points (7-14). They kept this margin until halftime: 9-16.

Green Yellow is back
Initially, Blauw-Wit didn’t seem to run into any more problems in the second half, when the lead was extended from 11-17 to 13-19. This thought disappeared after the Wormers came on 19-22. At a score of 20-23, Momo Stavenuiter (who became joint top scorer) scored 20-24. The victory was no longer in danger after this: 21-25.
With the win, Blauw-Wit retains the lead in the relegation pool of the Korfbal League with twelve points. The team from Amsterdam has averted direct relegation and can only theoretically be sentenced to play-down matches. Green Yellow gets stuck at eight points and is not yet safe.
