Alavés came back in Anxo Carro to stay in the fight for the lead
Chris Ramos scored the opening goal of the match
The Argentine Nahuel Tenaglia and the Japanese Taichi Hara put an end to Lugo’s resistance and completed a comeback for Deportivo Alavés (1-2) that seemed to be denied at the Anxo Carro but that was consumed in a matter of three minutes.
The Vitorians, who remain undefeated and reach eleven points in five dayshad squandered clear chances, two of them to the post, but finally they were able to make up for the goal that put the Lugo team ahead in the first half, the work of Chris Ramos, who continues to be sweet, although this time without a collective award.
The Lugo striker, the best footballer of the previous day in LaLiga SmartBank, advanced his position in the Hernán Pérez system, which opted for a 4-4-2 with the Andalusian as Manu Barreiro’s partnerinstead of doing it as a winger, a novelty that puzzled Alavés at the start of the game.
It took two minutes for Ramos to show his danger with a header and a one-on-one with Sivera that went wide. The high pressure and ambition of Lugo in the first section of the clash took the Vitorians ahead. From a set piece, Xavi Torres, after extension of the Colombian Neyder Lozano, tested the Alavés goalkeeper. Only ten minutes had passed.
Alavés recovered, but Lugo was not intimidated and, after fifteen minutesfound the prize of the goal with a great play by the Hispanic-Bolivian Jaume Cuéllar who headed down Chris Ramos, who else.
The Vitorians reacted to the blow, but either they were not successful in their approaches to the Lugo area, or They met the other great protagonist of the Galician team in the first games of the season, Óscar Whalley. Miguel de la Fuente, unmarked, forgave two headers, and Rebbach and Salva Sevilla met the goalkeeper.
Alavés maintained their siege in the second halfbut luck did not seem to be on their side: the woodwork took a right-footed shot from Guridi (m.53) and a header from Tenaglia (m.59) in the visitors’ eleventh corner kick.
Luis García moved the bench and introduced a triple change at game time with the entry of Luis Rioja, Rober González and the Japanese Taichi Hara, who got the tie. The striker botched it on his first shot attempt, but the ball was perfect for the second, with which he put an end to the local resistance.
Lugo ran out of energy, asleep in defense, and in three minutes Tenaglia completed the comeback in a center that the Brazilian Bruno Pirri inadvertently combed and that was left to the winger’s pleasure.
The locals did not give up and looked into the Alavés areathey even had the last one in a shot by Whalley that Siviera took out in a match that ended with tangana and two expelled, one per team,
