The Ramis effect continues to bear fruit and adds the second consecutive victory against Alcorcón (2-0)

The Catalan team meets the forecasts in a practical and well-managed match

RCD Espanyol continues to dispel all the doubts generated at the beginning of the season. The departure of Luis García, the arrival of Luis Miguel Ramis, a new coach, the umpteenth project to start and with the imperial need to add victories in a Second Division where disconnecting means plummeting in the classification. The blue and white team continues to grow, improve and add, which in the end is what is important. Second victory in a row and points reduction to Leganés, leader of the category that tied against Ferrol.

Three points earned after a first half where Alcorcón was an uncomfortable but not very dangerous rival. The blue and white team played with all the initiative, with the Madrid team waiting for the mistake to get out quickly. Ramis’ team tried actively and passively from the side with many crosses. Braithwaite or Pere Milla had the first chances but their aim was lacking.

It was difficult, but just before the break, in a key psychological blow, Espanyol took the lead on the scoreboard. A blackboard corner kick, a second play taking advantageor the disorder in the defense of Alcorcón and the head of Pere Milla to beat Jesús Ruiz. The 1-0 came in added time where the Madrid team equalized through Mosquera but it was annulled due to offside.

Espanyol came out asleep after the break and was lucky with a providential hand from Pacheco going one-on-one with Dyego Souza. The stop saved the tie but in Alcorcón’s best minutes the sentence came. First of all in football, a corner kick in favor cannot end in a goal against. Well, Ramis’s team did it.

A textbook counterattack, Aguado’s shot is horribly cleared by Jesús Ruiz and Jofre, with the rod ready, pushes it to make it 2-0 that facilitated the path to victory. It was made even easier by the double yellow in a matter of minutes for Víctor García due to a double collision with Brian Oliván.

The Catalan team dedicated themselves in the last minutes to putting the game to sleep, to anesthetize it and prevent a scare from leaving Alcorcón alive. Timid chances to make it 3-0 and no danger against them. Another victory on the difficult road back to First Division.
