Eminem’s legendary career was celebrated on Saturday.
The rap legend Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the weekend, revealed that his drug use got out of control years ago.
– I died of an overdose in 2007, which was horrible, Eminem said.

– Music saved my life. I’m trying to keep this (talk) as painless as possible. I probably shouldn’t be here today for a couple of reasons, the legendary artist continued in his speech.
Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, doesn’t typically make public appearances with her father, but she was on hand for Saturday’s festivities. Raptähti instructed his offspring to cover their ears as he continued his speech on the theme of intoxication.
– The drugs tasted damn good. I thought we had a good thing going, but I ruined everything, says Eminem.
Eminem briefly relapsed into drug use after an overdose, but eventually checked into rehab after being scared by the terrifying experience. After many attempts, it bore fruit, as he has not used drugs in over 14 years.

Eminem deals with his addiction in many of his songs. He says that he used to pop up to 70-80 pills a day during the most difficult times. The most popular 8 Mile – during the shooting of the film, the artist used diazepam, hydrocodone, zolpidem and methadone.
– We did 16-hour shooting days and there was a certain window of time when we had to sleep. One day someone gave me zolpidem and it knocked me out. I thought I needed this all the time, Eminem recalls.
In addition to his speech, Eminem performed his song at Saturday’s ceremony My Name Is, Rap God and Sing For The Moment.
– I am so grateful that I get to perform hip-hop music because I love it so much, Eminem stated.
