It’s only their second game of 2022, but the guys from Sudosa-Desto don’t seem to have a lack of rhythm. For the second week in a row, the team of trainer Henk Gootjes won, today 3-0 (25-18, 25-19 and 25-8). The gap with the leader of the Top Division, Dynamo Apeldoorn, therefore remains 4 points.
Super Saturday
Today is Super Saturday in the Olympus Sports Hall in Assen. Both first teams of Sudosa-Desto play a home game and the men could not have started the day better. Webton Hengelo, the number 8 in the Top Division, had no chance against the Assenaren, who are still in the battle for first place.
Olhaco doesn’t know how to turn the tide yet
The contrast between the two Drenthe clubs in the Top Division could hardly be greater. At Olhaco, it has not been running all season. Today the Hoogeveners received Zalsman Reflex from Kampen, who are third in the Top Division. It soon seemed that Olhaco would not take any points today, because the first set was lost 14-25.
In the second set Menno Volkerink’s team was able to put up some resistance, but it was not pulled over the line (21-25). In the third set, Olhaco was unable to keep up with the Kampenaren (16-25). Due to the defeat, the team from Hoogeveen remains at the bottom of the Top division. Fortunately, they cannot be relegated this season, because the Dutch volleyball association has decided that teams cannot be promoted or relegated this year, due to the impact that corona has on the competition.
make up game
Sudosa-Desto has a make-up match against Zalsman next Tuesday. Olhaco will not be back in action until April 2.
