Suddenly set! That’s what makes Dortmund star Wolf so important

Marius Wolf is clearly the big winner at BVB in recent weeks. Instead of being pushed back and forth between the pitch and the substitute bench as well as the left and right full-back position, the 26-year-old has recently settled on the offensive right wing of the Black and Yellows and impresses with unexpected clipping qualities.

Wolf has played for Borussia Dortmund in each of the last five Bundesliga games, scoring one to three goals of the season during this time. He even scored twice with his weak left foot.

For a long time, Wolf, who moved to the eastern Ruhr area more than three and a half years ago, was looking for his role in the team, his position on the pitch and his strengths in the BVB team.

Now, on his third attempt in Dortmund after two interim loans to Hertha BSC and 1. FC Köln, he has finally found it.

“I do my job like I’ve always done it. I want to help the team when I’m on the pitch, no matter what. That’s my number one goal. I get my playing time, work hard and try to help the team – whether it’s a minute or 90”, the Upper Franconian is quoted in the “kicker”.

Praise for Wolf also from the BVB boardroom

In the never-ending mentality debate surrounding BVB, Wolf brought precisely this passion and commitment to the past few weeks, which several of his team-mates keep losing.

The right winger was also recently praised by Dortmund’s top management: “He’s always made up for it in the past few weeks, even when he was substituted on,” he was positively highlighted by BVB license player manager Sebastian Kehl.

For the first time in his time at BVB, Wolf seems to be a regular regular in the attempt to make second place clear ahead of time and perhaps launch one last attack on leaders FC Bayern.
