The fire brigade and police have been on duty on Parrisiusstrasse in Berlin-Köpenick since Sunday afternoon. Three buildings are apparently in danger of collapsing!
Residents previously reported cracks in the house facade and that windows no longer closed properly. The fire department was also able to detect clear cracks. The construction supervisor decided to evacuate the buildings (front building, rear building and side wing).
According to initial information, the probable cause of the cracks and dislocations is an excavation pit. 46 residents are now being accommodated in hotels.
A structural engineer and the building inspector must now check the stability of the houses. A decision will be made on Monday as to what will happen next and when the residents can return to their apartments.
