In the Tambov region, they are looking for the killer of a high-ranking official who was responsible for roads in the region. An unidentified person attacked Viktor Vakulchik at the entrance of the house and inflicted several stab wounds.
The entrance to the entrance is tightened with signal tape. There are police cars around. Thus began the morning of the inhabitants of the Tambov high-rise building, where killed Viktor Vakulchikdeputy head of the regional department of transport.
To commit the crime, the killer, apparently, was well prepared. He knew the official’s schedule well. I met the victim in the morning at the entrance, before the start of the working day. He waited until Vakulchik went down to the first floor and rushed to the attack, stabbed the victim eight times. After that, the killer quickly retreated.
Presumably, it was his silhouette that was captured by a surveillance camera aimed at the entrance. The unremarkable man, without showing nervousness, goes out into the street and leaves the scene of the crime with frightening calmness. It looks like he is talking to someone on his cell phone, perhaps reporting on the completed order. The attacker did not touch Vakulchik’s things, so the version of robbery is not considered.
“In cooperation with employees of the internal affairs bodies, a complex of investigative actions and operational measures are being carried out aimed at investigating all the circumstances of this crime and the persons involved in its commission. The investigation is working out various versions of the motives for what happened, including the version that the crime could have been related to his official activities,” Elena Kyarsna, senior assistant to the head of the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Tambov region, commented.
Viktor Vakulchik started working in the regional administration in 2016. Prior to that, he headed a company that, since 1999, had been engaged in passenger transportation in Tambov. After he took a leadership position in the Department of Transportation, he oversaw the construction of roads.
Vakulchik’s activity in a high position was not accompanied by loud scandals and disputes. And 56-year-old Viktor Vakulchik did not hide his personal life on social networks either. There are enough photos in a relaxed atmosphere with friends and family members.
The official had not previously complained about troubles and threats, and relatives and colleagues did not notice oddities in his behavior. That is why sudden and massacre Viktor Vakulchik’s entourage was especially shocking. A criminal case has already been opened on the fact of the murder. Now investigators are trying to find out who and because of what benefited from his death.
