Looking back, Billie Eilish calls 2020’s Billie a “big identity crisis” in the Vanity Fair interview. The singer-songwriter has given the magazine an interview every year for the past six years. She looks back on a successful and busy year. She cites her world tour and headlining performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Glastonbury Festival as her biggest accomplishments of the year.

Eilish reveals she’s been working on new music with her brother Finneas O’Connell for a while. “We’ve just started making an album, which is really exciting,” she explains.

In the interview, the 20-year-old also talks about her private life. She opens up about her relationship with The Neighborhood singer Jesse Rutherford for the first time. He inspires her and she is overjoyed to be dating “the hottest guy ever”. Eilish also opens up about her ex-relationship with actor Matthew Tayler Vorce: “I’m very grateful for the relationship I was in last year and I think he’s a lot happier now – which makes me really happy.”

Eilish also reflects on the struggle with her body image. She’s made “a very big change” in her lifestyle this year and feels better than ever, she says. She also learned to trust her intuition and decided to listen to her gut feeling more.

Eilish was first interviewed by Vanity Fair when she was 15. Since then, she has answered the same questions for the magazine every year. In this year’s sixth interview, she says that this type of video makes her happy. “It’s just so cool to do this every year,” she explains. “The videos mean so much to me.”
