Fischer: “We can still achieve a lot”
“What we’ve been able to experience together in recent years is unbelievable and hard to describe. As I’ve said many times before, I feel very comfortable at Union. The daily work together with the team and the entire team, the conditions that the Club provides, the human contact with each other – all these are very important factors for our success in the past four years.I think we can still achieve a lot on the common path and I’m happy to continue to be part of the development of the club “Fischer is quoted as saying on the club’s website.
Relegation, promotion, Europe
Fischer has been a coach for the Irons since 2018. In his first season, he led the club into the Bundesliga for the first time in the club’s history via relegation against VfB Stuttgart. After Union managed to stay up in eleventh place under his direction in the first year in the football upper house, they surprisingly qualified for the Europa Conference League the following year.
A season later, the Irons were able to increase this success again by making it into the Europa League in fifth place.
