Rapper Bushido was right in a civil lawsuit against his ex-business partner Arafat Abou-Chaker for a sum of millions.

The ex-companion had to reimburse Bushido almost 1.8 million euros plus interest, said a spokeswoman for the Berlin civil courts on Wednesday. BILD had previously reported.

Accordingly, the court confirmed that there was no management contract between the two. Bushido would therefore not have had to pay his business partner at the time. The verdict is not yet legally binding.

Bushido – whose real name is Anis Mohamed Ferchichi – commented on the decision in a video on Instagram: “I’m so happy. I’m so, so happy. (…) It’s about the principle: Cashed in for years, although it wasn’t legally correct.” And: “The contractual histories that existed there in the past are immoral.”

The court had already issued a so-called default judgment in April in the legal dispute between Bushido and Arafat Abou-Chaker, who is considered a Berlin clan boss. This is the case in civil proceedings if a party does not appear at the appointment or does not submit an application. The latter was the reason for the default judgment.

Arafat Abou-Chaker subsequently appealed against this verdict. With the court’s decision on Wednesday, the default judgment is now upheld.

The separation of the rapper from his longtime companion has been occupying the Berlin judiciary for years. On August 17, 2020, criminal proceedings against Arafat A.-Ch. and three of his co-accused brothers.

The public prosecutor’s office accuses the accused of, among other things, deprivation of liberty, attempted severe extortion, coercion, dangerous bodily harm, insult and infidelity.
