‘A dream come true’

Scheveningen – Dozens of spectators and bathers gathered in the Eerste Haven and Scheveningen beach to catch a glimpse of submarine Zr. ms. Sea lion. The almost seventy-meter-long colossus of the Royal Netherlands Navy is coming to Scheveningen especially for Flag Day, which takes place on Friday, and the recruitment of new talent. “Insane. This is a dream come true”, says the commander of De Zeeleeuw in The Hague. According to him, the last time a submarine called at Scheveningen harbor was at least eighty years ago.
