Comes from Gremio
Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez appeared on the pitch together 258 times at FC Barcelona. They parted ways in 2020 when Suárez went to Atlético Madrid – now they are reuniting at Inter Miami CF. The MLS club presented the 36-year-old Uruguayan as a new signing on Friday. Suárez signed a contract for 2024, reportedly with the option of a second season.
“I am very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami. I can’t wait to get started and am ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club come true. I am optimistic about what we can achieve with our shared ambition. I will do everything I can to bring joy to these great fans I have heard so much about while wearing the Inter Miami colors and I look forward to meeting great friends and players again. “I’m also excited to get to know my new teammates and coaches,” Suárez is quoted as saying.

At Inter Miami, Suárez will play alongside Messi again, as well as Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. The striker was available for free as his contract with Brazilian club Gremio Porto Alegre expires at the end of the year. He only moved there in January. Originally, his working paper would have been valid until the end of 2024, but in July he announced that he would be leaving the club a year earlier – due to physical problems.
There had been rumors for a long time about Suárez’s possible signing in Miami. There was talk of negotiations between the two sides in the summer and it was said that the 137-time national player was considering a move. Suárez earned 125.5 million euros in transfer fees in his career and was active in Europe between 2007 and 2022 in the Eredivisie, the Premier League and LaLiga. He spent most of his career on the pitch with Messi.
