Cup winners Allianz MTV Stuttgart and ten-time German champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin were the first teams to reach the semi-finals in the women’s volleyball Bundesliga.
Main round winner Stuttgart also won game two of the “best of three” series at Roten Raben Vilsbiburg 3:0 (25:18, 25:16, 25:16) and is thus still on course for its second championship title.
As in the first game, Schwerin only won in the deciding set at VfB Suhl. After two and a half hours it was 3:2 (25:20, 15:25, 21:25, 25:23, 15:13) perfect, the team from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania now meets Stuttgart.
In the other two quarter-final duels between the Ladies in Black Aachen and SC Potsdam as well as 1. VC Wiesbaden and Dresdner SC (play-off score 0:1 each), game two is on Saturday.
