The game around a departure of Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain is on the car. According to, among others L’Equipe Saudi club Al-Hilal has made a mega bid for the attacker of no less than 300 million euros. That would be a record in football.
According to the French sports newspaper, that staggering offer came in on the day that PSG is also in talks with FC Barcelona. Paris Saint-Germain would be willing to accept the offer if Al-Hilal also manages to convince Mbappé. The remarkable deal would also have decided that Mbappé could move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next year.
If Mbappé takes the plunge, he could earn an astronomical salary in Saudi Arabia. According to the American TV network CBS the French star player is entitled to an annual salary of 700 million euros. PSG has now given Al Hilal permission to talk to Mbappé about a transfer. That writes the French press agency AFP according to a source close to the negotiations.
The tug-of-war over Mbappé started on Friday evening when Paris Saint-Germain reported that Mbappé is not part of the selection of the French champion who is now on a training camp in Japan. At the beginning of last week, Mbappé did appear at PSG’s training.

Mbappé has indicated some time ago that he does not want to extend his contract in Paris, which expires in 2024. From that moment on, PSG would no longer be able to ask for a fee for him. Mbappé has therefore been linked to Real Madrid in recent months.
Last weekend, the French players’ union UNFP condemned Paris Saint-Germain’s treatment of Mbappé and does not rule out taking the champion of France to court. The UNFP accuses PSG of not respecting Mbappé’s commitment. PSG gives Mbappé until July 31 at the latest to extend his contract that expires next year. Otherwise, he will have to leave quickly for a lot of money.
Paris Saint-Germain already lost Lionel Messi. He joined Inter Miami last month. Messi was presented there last week. He immediately scored his first goal for the Major League Soccer club on Sunday evening.
