On behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business, STUDIO2RETAIL is being organized by the Fashion Council Germany for the third time for the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week.

Stephan Schwarz, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises in Berlin: “With the Studio2Retail format, we want to support outstanding events for Berlin retailers and designers during Berlin Fashion Week. With their events, they show the specialist audience and many fashion enthusiasts on site collections and concept stores that transport the special creative energy of Berlin. The expert jury selected a good mix of innovative events, young talents and established designers from over 60 applications. Congratulations to all winners.”

The winning concepts convinced the jury with a high degree of creativity, innovation and sustainability as well as exciting formats: Shows were planned in unusual places such as museums, galleries, theaters or even in Meta-Verse and thus in the digital world. Many of the shows go beyond presenting the new collection and deal with socially relevant topics such as climate change, the challenge of making our society more inclusive and the question of how technological innovation and artistic craftsmanship influence each other. This is made visible through circular production models, such as upcycling, through diverse casting, through art performances and additional installations and targeted communication and positioning of the brands.

The concepts of the eight store events also stand out, especially in the areas of sustainability and inclusion of end consumers. Among other things, numerous workshops on sustainable fashion consumption, upcycling and the inclusion of marginalized groups in the fashion industry will take place, for which you can register via the STUDIO2RETAIL website.

Scott Lipinski, Managing Director of the Fashion Council Germany, comments: “We are pleased to be able to implement the STUDIO2RETAIL format again in the coming season on behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and with it a large number of exciting shows for the specialist audience and public events for To enable end consumers to attend Berlin Fashion Week. Fashion is a central consumer good in our everyday life with a not inconsiderable negative impact on the environment. Consequently, it requires conscious and responsible consumer behavior. This is exactly where the Studio2Retail formats come in and want to inform and enlighten end consumers.”

A jury of experts decided in advance on the winning concepts based on the following criteria: overall impression, creativity, innovation and sustainability in the offsite show applications as well as an additional category, the involvement of end consumers, in the store events. The jury consisted of Christiane Arp (Chairwoman of the Fashion Council Germany), Donna Darthuizen (Vice President Fashion & Sports HM OTTO GmbH), Enlil Isik (Content Manager & Creative Director Title Mag, Creative Director at Avec Nous Berlin), Julian Daynov (Trendscout ), Kerstin Weng (Head of Editorial Content at Vogue Germany), Sandra Cajić (Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises) and Scott Lipinski (Managing Director of the Fashion Council Germany).

STUDIO2RETAIL also aims to bring interested end consumers into contact with local designers and retailers in the network and thus support Berlin as a fashion location. Through targeted addressing, end consumers are invited to the events of STUDIO2RETAIL participants who are part of the STUDIO2RETAIL network. As a participant, you and your store/studio/etc. will be presented on the STUDIO2RETAIL website and shown on an interactive map and integrated into the STUDIO2RETAIL communication campaign.
