Studio Voetbal will look a little more like VI

Rafael van der Vaart is incredibly happy that Studio Voetbal is being overhauled. The NOS football chat show will have an audience and will therefore look a little more like Today Inside. “Nice!”

While Today Inside is a lively and dynamic program, Studio Voetbal often seems a bit dead. There are always gentlemen sitting at the table with very sad faces, as if they are talking about a very important subject. While in the end it is of course just about a game. And apparently they found that out themselves.

Audience in the studio

Studio Voetbal is overhauling: from next Sunday the broadcasts will be with an audience. There will be a new studio, with room for about fifty people. “An audience was also present at the previous European Football Championship and World Cup in the evening program (with presenter Sjoerd van Ramshorst),“ explains a NOS spokesperson.

The press officer continues: “This gave the broadcasts atmosphere and a feeling of ‘watching football together’. Partly due to these positive experiences, NOS has set up a new studio in its own building to make this possible every week at Studio Voetbal.”

It’s been a wish for some time now

Gert-Jaap Hoekman, editor-in-chief NOS Sport, is happy. “Adding an audience has been a wish of the editors for some time. We have created the space to organize this. The public can add value in both interaction and atmosphere. You watch football and talk about it together, now also every week at Studio Voetbal.”

The presenter of the show, Sjoerd van Ramshorst, is enthusiastic. “During the World Cup last year we had very positive experiences with audiences in our broadcasts, and we will now do that every football weekend. After all, we make the program for the viewers, so it is great that they can also be there live.”

Laughing at Raphael

Rafael van der Vaart hopes that his role in the program will finally be appreciated, he responds. “I like it that when I make a joke, someone laughs.”

Sjoerd then: “Exactly, because it remains completely silent now, but that will change in two weeks.”

Rafael: “Because I am a very nice dinner guest.”

Sjoerd: “Yes, really nice and that’s why we invite you almost every week.”

What does Tina say?

What does TV professor Tina Nijkamp think of this? move? “Hopefully there will soon be no more audience in the studio than watching at home, because Studio Voetbal’s viewing figures are doing particularly badly: yesterday only 481 thousand viewers. Last week 443 thousand and including postponed viewing 519 thousand.”

Not good, says Tina. “And only a third of VI. Perhaps also time for a format change?”
