Students walk, run and cycle together 9,000…

9,000 kilometers was not chosen by chance: it is the distance from Wevelgem to the city of Jinja in Uganda. Many students at a Ugandan secondary school live in rural areas and have difficulty getting to school. “We are raising money to buy bicycles so that they can go to school by bike because it is easier. Otherwise they have to walk,” says student Thijs Boone.

170 students covered a distance of 20 to 0 kilometers by bicycle, accounting for about half of the total. The other students, more than 600 of them, walked and ran for miles around the school.
