The Stuart Weitzman brand, which belongs to the US fashion group Tapestry Inc., has awarded its eyewear license to the Italian eyewear manufacturer Safilo Group SpA.
As part of the global exclusive partnership, which is initially limited to June 2029, Safilo will design, produce and market Stuart Weitzman’s eyewear collections in the future, according to a statement. The first products resulting from the collaboration are scheduled to be presented in North America in the fall-winter 2024 season.
The eyewear manufacturer, which also holds the license for the tapestry brand Kate Spade, is pleased to further expand its “successful collaboration” with the fashion group, said Safilo CEO Angelo Trocchia in a statement. The Stuart Weitzman label also represents an “excellent addition” to the brand portfolio in the luxury eyewear segment. Safilo is already an eyewear license partner of well-known fashion companies such as Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Moschino and Tommy Hilfiger.
