Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the NHO (Norwegian Business Confederation) annual conference in Oslo on Tuesday.

The royal couple was photographed in good spirits at the event. Both had a smile on their face.

The health of Mette-Marit, who is seriously ill, has worried citizens. In the run-up to Christmas, Norway’s Hovi published a Christmas portrait and greetings on its official social media channels. Mette-Marit shone in the picture by her absence. Pictured were King Harald, the Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon with his two children, Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus.

Hovi announced in connection with the photo that Mette-Marit did not participate in the filming.

– Unfortunately, the crown princess is not participating, because she has contracted the corona virus.

Mette-Marit was diagnosed with chronic pulmonary fibrosis in 2018. Prince Haakon said in his recent book that although the disease cannot be cured with modern medicines, its progression can be slowed down.

– He won’t get better, but his condition won’t deteriorate in the near future either. That’s what doctors aim for.

In the spring of 2021, Mette-Marit commented on the impact of her illness on her royal duties:

– My health affects the fact that my work capacity will vary. The Crown Prince and I think it best to announce this now, as there may be times in the future when the illness is more active and I cannot participate in my public duties.
