Struff cancels French Open start

Tennis professional Jan-Lennard Struff will not start at the French Open due to injury.

“After retiring in Miami for the first time in my life due to injury, I still hoped to return for Roland Garros,” Warsteiner, 32, wrote on Instagram. “But unfortunately I can’t play my favorite slam this year.”

Struff broke his toe at the Masters 1000 tournament in Miami at the end of March and has had to pause since then. In the world rankings, the previous German number two has now slipped to 99th place. The French Open begins on Sunday in Paris.
