Strong weekday in Europe: STOXX 50 in green

Stock market investors in Europe are currently venturing out of reserve.

At 12:09 p.m. the STOXX 50 was up 0.25 percent in STOXX trading to 3,827.66 points. At the start of Tuesday trading there was a gain of 0.013 percent to 3,818.52 points on the price board, after 3,818.02 points the previous day.

Over the course of the day, the STOXX 50 fell to 3,804.87 points. The stock market barometer, however, marked its highest level at 3,828.01 points.

A month ago, STOXX trading was suspended for the weekend. On the previous trading day, September 22, 2023, the STOXX 50 reached a value of 3,947.22 points. The STOXX 50 stood at 3,994.19 points three months ago, on July 24, 2023. A year ago, on October 24, 2022, the STOXX 50 reached 3,453.24 points.

The index has already increased by 3.85 percent since the beginning of 2023. The STOXX 50 has so far reached an annual high of 4,089.95 points. The annual low, however, is 3,658.90 points.

The strongest stocks in the STOXX 50 are currently Enel (+ 2.57 percent to EUR 5.79), Rio Tinto (+ 1.80 percent to GBP 49.79), National Grid (+ 1.38 percent to GBP 9.70 ), BP (+ 1.30 percent to GBP 5.39) and Glencore (+ 1.27 percent to GBP 4.34). However, in the STOXX 50, Roche (-1.16 percent to 234.80 CHF), Reckitt Benckiser (-1.11 percent to 58.94 GBP), Unilever (-0.78 percent to 39.57 GBP), BAT (-0.71 percent to 24.32 GBP) and ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) (-0.67 percent to 29.69 CHF).

STOXX 50 stocks with the top trading volume

The trading volume of HSBC shares is currently the highest in the STOXX 50. 4,022,417 shares were last traded via STOXX. At 406.038 billion euros, the Novo Nordisk share currently has the largest market capitalization in the STOXX 50.

Fundamentals of the STOXX 50 stocks

According to FactSet estimates, Mercedes-Benz Group (ex Daimler) shares have the lowest price-earnings ratio (P/E) among the STOXX 50 stocks this year at 4.71. According to FactSet estimates, BAT shares are expected to offer the highest dividend yield in the index in 2023 at 9.87 percent.
