Strong Feyenoord closes 2021 with victory over sc Heerenveen | Football

Feyenoord immediately had the better of the game. There was an early head chance from Bryan Linssen and a swipe from Guus Til. Alireza Jahanbakhsh’s rebound immediately afterwards also missed the target.

After more than half an hour of play, goalkeeper Xavier Mous van Heerenveen received the first goal after all. After a fine attack, Til completed with the inside of his foot. It was the tenth goal of the year-old midfielder this season.

Before the break it was still 2-0 for the team from Rotterdam via Marcos Senesi who headed in from a corner. The Frisians had a chance before half-time. In the 26th minute Justin Bijlow made a fine save on a shot by Alen Halilovic.

Early in the second half, the tension in the game seemed to return. After a free kick by Joey Veerman, Henk Veerman headed in, but the VAR disallowed the 2-1 with a delay due to offside. In the 58th minute it was Linssen who headed in the third goal of the evening. With eleven goals, the Feyenoord player is now the top scorer in the Eredivisie.

Things could have gotten worse for the Frisians, but this time a goal by Alireza Jahanbakhsh was disallowed after VAR consultation. And that was it. No more goals were scored in the four minutes of extra time and Feyenoord can travel towards 2021 with a neat victory.

Feyenoord is now equal in points with Ajax in the Eredivisie, which will play against Fortuna Sittard on Wednesday evening. PSV has one point more and will face a home game with Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday.
