The second edition of the book will be available this week.
Memoir of the spouse of the President of the Republic, Dr. Jenni Haukio Here for you was published yesterday Monday.
In her book, Haukio talks about her position in the service of the republic, as the first woman. He writes about the people he meets and his work on the themes closest to him. The reader is also offered nuggets about a more personal life.
The book has received enormous media attention and the Helsinki Academic Bookstore was full on Monday when Haukio told the publisher about his book there Anna-Riikka Carlson’s interviewed.
Director of Sales at WSOY Brother Pekka Matilainen does not yet reveal exact sales figures, but confirms that Haukio’s book is currently the number one product of all retail channels.
– The first edition was practically sold out from the publisher in advance to retailers. However, it is still available in bookstores all over Finland.
ATTE KAJOVA
– The second edition will come this week, Matilainen says.
The work of the president’s spouse is also of interest to library users.
On Tuesday morning, there were 2,055 reservations for Haukio’s book through the Helmet library system of the capital region. The Helmet system covers the city libraries of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.
As of Tuesday, not a single copy of Haukio’s book had arrived in the libraries of the capital region. 118 copies of them have been ordered in Helsinki alone, so as soon as they are delivered to the library, the reservation queues start to break up quickly.
However, there is no question of an exceptionally large pre-booking amount. Helsinki’s Pasila library reports that even larger bookings have been seen. The media attention a work receives usually correlates directly with demand.
WSOY’s sales director believes that the demand for the book can be even greater in provincial libraries:
– However, Haukio is a person loved by the entire nation, Matilainen states.
Your star here has been published not only in print and e-book, but also as an audiobook read by Haukio himself.
