Strikers Forbo-Novilon back to work for the time being

The striking employees of Forbo-Novilon in Coevorden have resumed their work today. The flooring company has put an improved collective labor agreement on the table. The trade union FNV now wants to know from the members whether they agree.

If the members vote against the improved collective labor agreement, the strike will start again on Sunday. According to FNV, the management has moved towards the strikers by making a one-off payment of 250 euros.

About 330 employees work at Forbo-Novilon and FNV wants a wage increase of 10 percent for all of them, with automatic price compensation. The management offers 8 percent, plus a one-off payment of 250 euros. FNV also wants maternity leave to be supplemented to 100 percent, where it is legally 70 percent, and the union wants travel costs to go to 21 cents per kilometer. Finally, they want the minimum wage to go to 14 euros per hour.

Strikers can vote on the new collective labor agreement until Saturday.
