Dortmund (dpa) – Striker star Erling Haaland wants to become a farmer in his hometown of Bryne after his career as a footballer.
“I think I’ll have a small farm when I retire in Bryne,” said the 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker in an interview with US television channel ESPN. He’s pretty sure he’ll have some animals.
In the summer of 2020, the Norwegian posted a photo on his Instagram account in which he was sitting on a tractor and wrote: “I’m working”. Agriculture is a way to switch off your head and not think about football for once, Haaland said. “So when I can, I try to relax my head. And one of those things is like being on a farm or driving a tractor or feeding the cows or whatever,” he said. He doesn’t have his own cows yet, “but I will definitely have some in the future.”
